Upload the WebP as it is. Its transparency is kept: pixels more than half opaque are traced and the rest stay see-through, so an icon with a cut-out background becomes an SVG with the same cut-out and no background box. Lossless WebP traces as cleanly as a PNG; the soft noise of lossy WebP is folded into the real colors. Images saved from websites and many AI image generators come as .webp, and flat artwork with a few colors traces cleanly.

Limits
Up to 25 MB and 24 megapixels per image. Processing stops after 180 s. Images over 2048 px on the long side are scaled down to 2048 px before tracing.

Troubleshooting
Lossy or lossless: does it matter?
Both trace. Lossless WebP gives the cleanest edges. With a lossy file, set the color count to the colors you can see, so the noise joins them instead of adding shades.
A soft shadow became a hard-edged shape
A soft, see-through area such as a drop shadow becomes one shape with an even opacity: the shadow stays, but its fade becomes a crisp edge.
White details vanished
White artwork on a white backdrop has nothing to separate it from the background. Give it a contrasting or transparent background before converting.
The image came from an AI generator and looks noisy
Fine texture, soft shading and gradients become many small flat areas. Lower the color count, or generate the image again in a flat style with a few solid colors and no gradients.
